One of my favorite things to do is celebrate. Birthdays, holidays (yes, even the random social media-generated ones as you can see here and here), seasons, and accomplishments are all recognized in some way that usually involves pretty decorations and dessert. My favorite line of budget friendly party supplies can be found at Target. Their fun patterned plates, balloons, and banners are what inspired me to have a summer soiree/housewarming party with my family now that we are finally getting settled in to our new house!
For all of the decorations and food, I spent under $50. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and I made a delicious hot fudge cake with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. Our guests each brought a side dish, which you will find the recipes for below! After having dinner in our backyard, everyone played rounds of corn hole, ping pong, and a new game that we are all addicted to: KanJam. We then ended the night with a pretty intense water balloon fight which escalated into the hose being used as a weapon of mass destruction and bowls of water being poured over heads. It’s really not hard to throw together a summer party, and it doesn’t have to be expensive either. (And the no-mercy water fight is optional!)
