After Christmas time, I was left with an overabundance of peppermint candies. I was trying to think of a creative way to use them up, when I got the idea for these stir sticks. They are perfect to stir in your coffee or hot coco, leaving a minty, chocolaty flavor. They also make cute treats for friends or coworkers!
You Will Need:
Cake pop sticks
Oven safe mugs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat the inside of each mug with cooking spray. Unwrap the mints, and place 6 in the bottom of each mug. Set mugs on the cookie sheet, and place in the oven for 20-30 minutes, or until the mints are melted. Sprinkle a thin layer of chocolate chips onto the melted mints, and place back in the oven until the chocolate starts to melt. Gently push a cake pop stick into the center of each candy. Let mugs cool, then place in the fridge for 30 minutes. Using a dull knife or a spatula, loosen the edges of the peppermint candies. They should pop right out of the mugs and be ready for the hot drink of your choice!
